Under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, under the proportion of anti-proprietary law, how many companies have been notified. McDonnell's franchise Hardcastle restaurants in West and South India, a Retailer outlet in Life Style International and a Honda dealer have been caught in the scourge of this law. These companies are accused of not giving the benefit of lowering the price of GST to consumers.
DG Safeguards has notified at least five such companies. It includes Gurgaon's real estate firm Pyramid Infratech and Sharma Trading of Jaipur. Sharma is accused of trading 28 percent tax on Vaseline after he reduced the GST rate to 18 percent on November 15.
Notice against hard cashless restaurants has hit the whole sector. In fact, it has been said in the complaint that even after the GST decreased from 18% to 5%, the price of coffee was not reduced and 142 rupees for a coffee was taken. Some restaurants had increased menu pricing, so the benefits of reducing GST rates were of little benefit to the customers. The government's efforts on this issue have not been successful.
On one hand, DG Safeguards has started issuing a notice on December 29, on the other hand Hardcastle restaurants say they have not received any notice. He said no instruction was given to us.
Against Life Style International, it is related to one retail outlet in Ghaziabad based mall. It is alleged that he had recovered 28 percent GST on November 22, when the GST rate was reduced to 18 percent on November 15, the week before.
