As a renowned film producer and President of Scholastic
Media, Deborah Forte is spearheading efforts to bring modern technology
to the rapidly changing field of educational entertainment. Earlier
this year, Deborah and her team at Scholastic Media announced a
partnership with Intel to deliver collaborative gaming experiences on
Intel-based All-in-One PCs for Scholastic’s timeless properties Clifford the Big Red Dog and I SPY.
Using Intel’s immersive RealSense technology to create high quality
children’s media, Deborah hopes to bring children back to reading and
introduce them to the future of interactive education.
Currently, Deborah and her team are breathing new life into classic stories such as Goosebumps and The Magic School Bus. Previously available only on TV and CD-ROM, Deborah is utilizing modern animation techniques and 3D technology to reboot The Magic School Bus
series, which will soon be available on a wide variety of platforms.
With advances in technology, Deborah and Scholastic are bringing these
beloved stories to life for a new generation of readers and viewers.
We recently visited Deborah at Scholastic’s New York
headquarters to understand her creative process and see how she is using
technology to redefine the future of media. While touring her office
and learning about her current projects, she offers us the very first
glimpse at the concept art and early creative direction for the 3D The Magic School Bus
TV series. Watch to see how Deborah and Scholastic Media are using
pioneering Intel technology to fuse the worlds of education and
entertainment.
The Future is Now is a 10-part video series that
explores people and companies using Intel-powered technology to reinvent
the future.
